This form is used to create and maintain area tags as web elements for image maps used against images in web pages. Image map area tags are areas of an image that link to other pages within Callista Connect, external web pages or sites. To set up an image map in a web page an Image Map is applied to an image in the Maintain Image form. The image and the image map (created in the Maintain Image Map form) are applied to the web page body in Connect Builder. The image and the image map should be siblings within the web page body. The area tags recorded in this form are applied as subordinates of the image map in Connect Builder. 1. Navigate to this form via the Site Map button. 2. Select Current Window to open this form in the current browser window or New Window to open this form in a new browser window. 3. To open the Maintain Image Map Area Tag window and create a new area tag web element:
4. Record details of the area tag to be created as a web element. Area tag code must be recorded for a new area tag; and cannot be altered when an area tag is edited. Area tag code:
5. To open the Choose Image Map Area Tag window:
6. If the Style Override indicator is selected, the global or individual style overrides any inline style elements applied to the area tag. If the Style Override is de-selected, an inline style applied to the area tag overrides the global or individual style for the element unless it has been listed as a replacement element in the global or individual style. 7. Select the Closed indicator to prevent further use of the area tag. 8. Unwanted area tag elements can be removed by selecting the Delete button. |
Rules/Notes: An area tag element cannot be deleted if it is currently being used in a web page. |
