SCHF0200 - Maintain Rank Types

Purpose

The purpose of this form is to enable maintenance of a set of user-defined Rank Types that link to System Rank Types

This form is used to record Rank Types which are mapped to System Rank Types. The Rank Types that are recorded here are used within the Maintain Scholarship Application Rank form SCHF1100.

The System Rank Types are defined at table level, and they are used within Scholarship validations and Jobs.

An Institution can have multiple Rank Type mapped to a System Rank Type.

Examples of a Rank Type are:

Rank Type Description System Rank Type
INST-WIDE The ranking is across the entire institution. INST-WIDE
ORG-UNIT The ranking occurs at the organisational unit level. ORG-UNIT
UPDATE Update Record UPDATE
USER-DEF The ranking occurs at a user defined level. USER-DEF

 

The Rank Type block contains:

  • Rank Type
  • Description
  • System Rank Type
  • Allow Duplicates check box
  • Closed check box

Rules/Notes:

 

To create a new Rank Type:

  • Enter Insert mode
  • Enter the new code in the Rank Type field of a blank record
  • Enter the corresponding description for the Rank Type in the Description field
  • Enter the System Rank Type this Rank Type maps to
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

Once in use, a System Rank Type cannot be closed.

Allow Duplicates, duplicates Rank Type.

 

  To modify a Rank Type:
  • Find the record to be modified
  • Modify the record as required
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

Once in use, a Rank Type should not be modified.

To delete a Rank Type:

  • Find the record to be deleted
  • Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted
  • Delete record
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

A Rank Type can be closed preventing any further use by selecting the Closed check box.
