Purpose

Reserve Places for an Activity Offering

Each Activity Offering has a limit on the number of students that may be allocated. However, there is the ability to Reserve Places (within this limit) for a particular Cohort of students and/or the ability to include or exclude a Course Version(s). These Reserved Places are then only available to students that satisfy the Cohort, and/or enrolled (or not enrolled) in the Course Version.

The reserved places can be unreserved by setting a Date that indicates the point in time when the Reserved Places are automatically cut-off (i.e. available to all students). The Reserved Places Cutoff Date can be specified at three levels -

1. A Cutoff Date Alias defined at Maintain Activity Offering Reserved Places.
2. The Cohort chosen at Maintain Activity Offering Reserved Places can have a Cutoff Date Alias, or
3. The system activity configuration cut-off date alias.

The Reserved Places Description is automatically derived with information about the Reserved Place (e.g. who the Reserved Place is for), however the user can give more detail to the description or it can be over ridden altogether.

The Activity Offering block contains:

• Activity Code
• Activity Type
• Day
• Start Time
• End Time
• Venues
• Weeks
• Include Deleted Offerings check box
