Purpose

The purpose of this function is to maintain Government Statistical Local Areas

Government Statistical Local Areas are unique within a State or Territory. The complete set of valid Government Statistical Local Areas can be found on the ABS web site, in the Statistical Concepts Library (http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats).

Government Statistical Local Areas are recorded against Locations of type CAMPUS and are reported in the NAT00020 Training Provider Location AVETMISS File.

This form is accessed through the main menu.

 

The Government Statistical Local Area block contains:

  • Govt Statistical Local Area Code
  • System State
  • Description
  • Closed check box
Rules/Notes:

To create a new Government Statistical Local Area:

  • Enter Insert mode
  • Enter the new code in the Government Statistical Local Area field of a blank record
  • Select the appropriate system state
  • Enter the corresponding description for this record in the Description field
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

Government Statistical Local Area MUST be unique for each state. 

The System State Code must not be closed.

To modify a Government Statistical Local Area:

  • Find the record to be modified
  • Modify the record as required
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

Once in use, a Government Statistical Local Area should not be modified.

To delete a Government Statistical Local Area:

  • Find the record to be deleted
  • Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted
  • Delete record
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

A System State Code cannot be deleted once it has been used in Maintain Locations (ORGF0131).
