In the Research subsystem, these codes are used to classify each person nominated as a supervisor of a Research Candidate. There may be more than a single supervisor for any candidature. A Research Supervisor Type is allocated to a person entered as a research supervisor, in the Research Supervisor form (RESF3250). |

Use this form to enter the institution-defined Research Supervisor types. Each Research Supervisor Type must be unique and both Type and Description entries are mandatory. Research Supervisor Types cannot be deleted once they have been used in the system. Select the Closed indicator to prevent future use of any type. |
Rules/Notes: Examples could include INDUSTRY, DEPUTY, PHD, PRINCIPAL. Only select the Principal Supervisor indicator for those Research Supervisor types that fit the institution's requirements for a principal supervisor. Validation rules restrict allocation of Research Supervisor types to only one Principal Supervisor for any candidature. |
