ENRF6200 - Maintain Encumbrance Types

Purpose

To allow the creation and maintenance of institution defined Encumbrance Types

Rules/Notes:

 

This form is used by the System Administrator or Subsystem Specialist to:

  • Record and maintain institution defined Encumbrance Types.
  • Associate Encumbrance Effect Types with Encumbrance Types.

Use it to:

  • Alter the description of Encumbrance Types.
  • Associate an Encumbrance Category with an Encumbrance Type.
  • Close Encumbrance Types, preventing further use.
  • Record those Encumbrance Effects which apply to a student with the Encumbrance Type.
  • Define whether an encumbrance type should be reported to the ARTS results file (refer to TAC Academic Results Requisition process).

Encumbrance Categories are described in the overview of Encumbrance functionality. Their effects are detailed in ENRF6320.

Rules/Notes:

Encumbrance Categories are used to identify the two groupings of Encumbrance Effects. They also have navigation effects as described under ENRF6320.

At least one Encumbrance Effect must be attached to an Encumbrance Type prior to saving.

Encumbrance Types cannot be deleted. They can be closed preventing further use.

The effects attached to an Encumbrance Type are applied to a student when the Encumbrance Type is recorded against the student. This is covered in detail under ENRF6320.
