Apple Certificate Update

To access eduroam on your Apple device follow the instruction below.

Users with Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, and Macs) will need to follow the below instructions if they are having problems connecting to eduroam using the wifi setup utility.

Note: If your computer password changes, you will also need to change your wifi password.

Step 1: Check to see if you have the eduroam profile on your device

iPhone / iPad:

  • Home Screen > Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management (If there is no menu option for profile, please skip to the section below titled, "I don't have the eduroam profile...")
  • Tap on Configuration Profile > see if 'eduroam' is listed

If you have eduroam listed, jump to Step 2 to update your current configuration.

Macbook / iMac:

  • System Preferences > Profiles (If there is no menu option for profile, please skip to the section below titled, "I don't have the eduroam profile...")
  • In the new window that opens, look for 'eduroam' on the list to the left.

If you have eduroam listed, jump to Step 2 to update your current configuration.

Should you have the profile listed and are trying to access eduroam at another institution, you will need to skip straight to the tab titled, "Another institution."

I don't have the eduroam profile...

If you DO NOT have eduroam listed, you will be prompted to accept a new certificate.

Provided that this certificate is issued by "QuoVadis," you are fine to accept and trust it as seen in the screenshot below.

I am repeatedly being asked to accept a new certificate

Please follow the instructions in Step 2 to setup eduroam using "cdu-wifi-setup" if you are experiencing repeated requests to accept the new certificate.

Step 2: Updating the eduroam profile

Updating the eduroam profile:

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi. From your available list of Wi-Fi services, connect to 'cdu-wifi-setup'
  2. Open your Safari browser application and enter 'wifi.cdu.edu.au' in the address bar.
  3. Click the Start button when the page opens
  4. Follow the prompts and choose the option to "reset the configuration"
  5. For Apple devices, you will be prompted to Install a profile using your device passcode.
  6. Use the credentials in the table below when prompted.
  7. Once you are connected, go back to your list of Wi-Fi services, tap on the (i) next to 'cdu-wifi-setup' and choose 'Forget this Network.

Note: If you plan on using eduroam away from CDU, make sure you connect your device to eduroam at a CDU campus prior to departing. This should reduce your chances of connection difficulties at other institutions. Eduroam uses the CDU settings even at other non-CDU locations.

If you are at another institution

you will first need to remove the eduroam profile from your device.

iPhone / iPad:

  1. Home Screen > Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management
  2. Tap on Configuration Profile > Eduroam
  3. Scroll down and tap on Delete Profile at the bottom of the screen (you may be prompted to enter your PIN)

Macbook / iMac:

  1. System Preferences > Profiles
  2. In the new window that opens, look for 'eduroam' on the list to the left.
  3. Click on the eduroam profile followed by the '-' to remove the profile.

Connecting eduroam manually

If you have removed eduroam using the above steps, you will need to reconnect eduroam manually by:

  1. Home Screen > Settings > Wi-Fi
  2. Select 'eduroam'
  3. When prompted, use the following credentials:
