Collaborating closely with the world-leading Menzies School of Health Research, our research spans all areas of health, health-related culture, and the health environment and workforce.


Institutes and centres

Tackling complex challenges demands a multidisciplinary effort, and the Faculty of Health has clustered its research into several multi-disciplinary institutes and centres.

The Australasian RISC Centre

The Australiasian RISC Centre assists communities and stakeholders in resilience planning to mitigate future risks, and provides an evidence-based approach to disaster and emergency management.

Molly Wardaguga Research Centre

The Molly Wardaguga Research Centre supports women’s cultural and birthing aspirations, particularly in remote locations through research. The centre leverages this research to dismantle the barriers imposed by westernised approaches to birthing and maternal care.

The Mental Health and Supportive Care Research Group improves health and well-being outcomes through the development and implementation of evidence-based psychosocial interventions.

Higher Degree by Research

The CDU Research Web Portal can help identify research-active CDU staff who are registered to supervise HDR projects. Use the search function to search by area of expertise or click on 'profiles' to browse by name. 

The right supervisor can help you develop your project outline and provide the support needed to help you complete your degree. The Faculty of Health supports research students in a broad range of areas.

CDU 3MT Competition Awards

The Faculty of Health supports research students in a broad range of areas, including the presentation of their research. The Three Minute Thesis competition showcases innovative CDU PhD candidates and their research in an internationally recognised competition of science communication.
