Student Ambassador Program

Who are the Student Ambassadors?

Charles Darwin University Student Ambassadors are a selected group of students who liaise between the university and the external community, including prospective students, families, guests, and career advisers. They volunteer their time to share their knowledge and passion for CDU to people who are thinking about tertiary studies and want to gain a better understanding of university life.

Student Ambassadors make a significant contribution to the college community while developing advanced personal, professional and leadership skills.

The role

Student Ambassadors are involved in a variety of University activities, including:

  • Orientation Weeks and Open Day
  • annual corporate events
  • high School visits around Darwin, Palmerston and rural areas
  • media opportunities - photo shoots and interviews

Through participation in these activities, Student Ambassadors have the opportunity to develop professional skills such as:

  • leadership
  • team work
  • public speaking
  • networking and communication.

They also receive certificates of appreciation for each event they have contributed to and an invitation to the Student Ambassador End of Year Awards.

When Ambassadors graduate they will receive formal recognition on their Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS).

To be eligible as a Student Ambassador, we expect candidates to:

  • have completed one semester of study and maintain grades
  • dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per semester
