Security Restriction Object

Explanation

A restriction object is a name used to identify a particular security restriction. A restriction object relates to a specific restriction table. Restriction objects are defined by the restriction table to which they apply.

Example

To create a restriction object using the Maintain Restriction Objects form:

  1. Enter Insert Mode.
  2. Enter a name for the restriction object in the Restriction Object field.
  3. Select the restriction table to be associated with this restriction object from the list of values in the Restriction Table field.
  4. Enter any notes regarding this restriction object in the Notes field.
  5. Save.

Rules:

  • The convention for naming restriction objects is to use the field name of the restricted data field with the suffix '_r'. For example, to restrict access to certain calendar types the restriction object would be named cal_type_r.

To delete a restriction object using the Maintain Restriction Objects form:

  1. Select the desired record.
  2. Delete record.
  3. Save.
