Institutions are required to report statistics concerning the research undertaken within the institution, to government. The Socio-Economic Objective (SEO) Classification is one of three classification codes required for this reporting. The SEO Classification allows research to be classified according to the social and economic objectives of the research. Where a set of institution-defined SEO Classification is recorded (using RESF31D0), each must map to one of these Government SEO Classifications. Government SEO Classifications come from two sources: Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs (DEST) or the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). |
Use this form to enter and maintain the DEST and ABS SEO Classifications. Each classification code must be unique. The ABS SEO indicator is used to distinguish between the DEST and the ABS schemes. The SEO Classifications button can be used to navigate to form RESF31D0 for the purpose of:
