Prizes and medals recorded in this form are awarded to students in the context of a particular course being studied.

An option is available so that special awards can be announced at a ceremony. However, only recipients who are also graduands will be allocated a place at the ceremony.

To be recorded for a student, each prize or medal must already have been allocated an award code in form CRSF1190, Maintain Awards.

The Person block allows a query on an individual student.

  • Select the student for whom a prize or medal is to be recorded, either by entering a known person ID, or by selecting the button to use the Find Person facility (ADMF1211).
  • Select the student's relevant course attempt from those presented in the Student Course Attempt block. Scroll to see all attempts, or query on a specific course code.

Notes/Rules:

  • A lamp displays if there is any encumbrance recorded for the student, but this does not prevent the recording of a special award.

For each student course attempt selected, one or more prizes or medals can be recorded.

  • Select or key the appropriate award code. The list of values (LOV) presents only open awards of system award type MEDAL or PRIZE, and keyed awards are verified accordingly.
  • Optionally, overwrite the award date (defaults to current date). This date is for information, and currently has no processing significance.
  • If the special award is to be announced at a graduation ceremony, select the Announce at Ceremony indicator.
  • Optionally enter comments - intended for internal administrative purposes.
  • The same prize/medal can be awarded on more than one occasion to the same student for study in the same course. Award dates must be different.
  • All special awards are associated with a course attempt. If an award is to be announced, it will be included in the lists for the ceremony which includes that course. For graduands taking out awards at more than one ceremony, the announcement will be included for each ceremony. If this is not required, it will be necessary to manually amend the printed ceremony list/s.
  • It is anticipated that it will be possible to include special awards in the relevant ceremony programme, whether or not an announcement is made at the ceremony.
