Student Course Attempt Joint Degree

You can access this form via the Joint Degree button on ENRF3000 (context of the currently selected student and course) or directly from the Main Menu. If the form is accessed via the Main Menu, you can search for the student(s) you require. Only courses in the HE sector will be returned.

Using this form you can select the Institution code for a specific 'non-local' HE provider and record their percentage of the joint ownership agreement. This information is used for Government Reporting purposes.

For example:

Kevin is undertaking a Bachelor of Business as a joint degree at both Bris-Vegas University and Narrow Lake University. Kevin completes 20% of the Bachelor of Business at Bris-Vegas University and 80% of the Bachelor of Business at Narrow Lake University.
To record this, an administrator at Bris-Vegas University either accesses this form directly from the main menu or accesses Kevin’s Student Course Attempt (ENRF3000), and navigates to the Maintain Joint Degree form (ENRF4310) via the Joint Degree button. The administrator selects Narrow Lake University and records 80% against it.
When Bris-Vegas University reports data about Kevin’s enrolment to DEEWR, Element 578 on the Past Course Completions file (see STAJ0070) will show 020.
On the other hand, when Narrow Lake University reports data about Kevin’s enrolment to DEEWR, Element 578 on the Past Course Completions file will show 080.

Notes

Only non-local institutions are recorded in this form.

If no percentage has been entered for joint ownership, it is assumed the degree is not a joint degree and is wholly owned by the institution.

Where percentages have been entered for joint ownership, it is assumed the reporting (local) institution is responsible for 100% minus any percentage recorded against other non-local providers.)

Only whole numbers will be accepted as percentage values.

The total cannot be more than 99%, as a minumum of 1% must be attributed to the reporting local institution.

You can update the percentage completion figure when the student's Course Attempt Status is UNCONFIRMED, INACTIVE or ENROLLED.

Only institutions mapped to a Government Institution with the Valid Higher Education Provider (HEP) indicator checked will be recorded here.

Joint degree details cannot be applied to completed course attempts.

Joint degree details cannot be applied for a course version that does not allow joint degrees.

Government Reporting

Element 578:
Completion Percentage shows the percentage of the course completed in a joint degree attributed to the local reporting institution only. Completion Percentage is derived from data entered here in ENRF4310. For example, if the following is recorded in ENRF4310 for the 'non-local' institutions:

  • Institution B provides 30%
  • Institution C provides 40%

then by default the local reporting institution provides 30% (i.e. 100% minus 70% ( the sum of 30% and 40%)). Therefore, the Completion Percentage shown in STAJ0070 for the reporting institution would be 30% for both non-local provider institutions.
If no data is entered, the value defaults to 100%.
