Participation Type This purpose of this function is to enable the maintenance of participation types for use in the Maintain Student Unit Attempt Participation functionality. Each participation type is mapped to a system participation type. Participation Types are used to classify the possible methods of participation for a student unit attempt, in cases where standard participation recording methods do not suffice. In certain cases, a standard phrase may be used to describe the participation. Such phrases may be defined using this functionality, and subsequently defaulted to the comments field within the Student Unit Attempt Participation record, where it may be modified. The following are examples of Participation Types:

To create a new Participation Type:

Rules/Notes: A Participation Type record cannot be created for a closed Government. A Participation Type cannot be re-opened if it is mapped to a closed Government Participation Type. If both the Effective Start Submission Year and Effective End Submission Year are specified, then the Effective Start Submission Year cannot be greater than the Effective End Submission Year. Effective Start Submission Year must exist as a Submission Year on the Government Submission Snapshot Control VET table. Effective End Submission Year must exist as a Submission Year on the Government Submission Snapshot Control VET table. |

Rules/Notes: Once in use, a Participation Type should not be modified. |
To delete a Participation Type:

Rules/Notes: A Participation Type can be closed preventing any further use by selecting the Closed check box. |
