Student Status Snapshot Mapping |
This form is used to record and maintain the institution defined set of Student Status codes. These are comparable to Government Student Status codes (element 390), but provide for greater flexibility with the ability to subdivide Government Student Status codes and to use more meaningful codes. Institution defined Student Status codes may be mapped to a Government Student Status code. Students in Government reportable courses normally select a Course Attempt Student Status from the institution defined set, at Enrolment. In some cases, such as reportable non-award courses, the appropriate Student Status code is reported on the student's behalf, without the need for students to indicate the appropriate status. For example, meaningful values for Student Statuses, such as DEFERRED and OS-FEE, could be used and mapped to the Government Student Status codes 201 - Deferred and 310 - Fee paying overseas student respectively. The Student Status Snapshot Mapping block is used to process Student Loan Scheme functions to record the correct Student Unit Attempt Student Status as at the Census Date for a unit. This allows the user to maintain a relationship between an institution Student Status and the Student Status Snapshop values. This form is accessed from the main menu. |

Rules/Notes: The Log Exception checkbox in the Student Status Snapshot Mapping block allows the mapped Statudent Status to be sent to an Exception report. The Default Elect Payment check box indicates whether or not the Elect Payment checkbox will be set to 'Y', when this Student Status is selected. The HECS-Help Eligible indicator can only be selected for Student Statuses mapped to a Government Student Status of 204. If the VET Student Loan eligible indicator is selected, then students with this Student Status are eligible for VET Student Loans.

Rules/Notes: The Expire After Academic Period function is designed particularly for Student Status code 330, Fee Exemption (Australian Postgraduate Award or permanent resident with OPRS/SOPF) where the student's continuing eligibility to receive the exemption is assessed periodically. When using the Student Status Snapshot Mapping fields and two records are selected, the Full Payment checkbox can be set to 'Y' and 'N'. Both records cannot be set to 'Y' or both 'N' simultaneously. Depending on the values set, corresponding Student Status can be used during the loan processing. Based on the values set in the Full Payment check box corresponding Student Status can be used during the loan processing. |
To modify a Student Status record using the Maintain Student Status form:
|
Rules/Notes: A Student Status should only be modified where the change is to correct an incorrectly entered description. |
To delete a Student Status record using the Maintain Student Status form:
|
Rules/Notes: If a Student Status has been assigned to any Student Course Attempt, it cannot be deleted. It can be closed, preventing any further use, by selecting the Closed check box. |
