Purpose

To record institution-level information relating to Unit Set Enrolment via Callista Connect, or to disable the Unit Set Code LOV validation in CRSF1290.

Unit Sets Configuration

This form is divided into the following two sections:

• Self-Enrolment section
  • Used to record institution-level information relating to Unit Set Enrolment via Callista Connect. It enables an administrator to specify, at the institution level:
    1. The maximum number of Student Unit Set Attempts (SUSA) that can be added via Callista Connect
    2. That the maximum number is for SSF Available unit sets for self enrolment only or if it is assumed to cover all unit sets
    3. The maximum number of SUSA that may be manually set as 'Primary' via Callista Connect.

  If no limits are recorded at the institution level, no restrictions are enforced when Unit Sets are added via Callista Connect.
  These configuration settings are considered when a student attempts to add, confirm, reinstate or remove a Unit Set from their enrolment via Connect.

• Maintain Course Reference Codes section
  Allows institutions to disable the validation that fires on the Unit Set Code LOV in CRSF1290 so that administrators can select expired and INACTIVE Unit Sets from the LOV, if required.

The Unit Sets Configuration block contains:

Self Enrolment

• Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Unit Sets
• Include ONLY Unit Sets available for Self Enrolment (Check Box)
• Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Primary Unit Sets

Maintain Course Reference Codes section:

• Exclude Unit Sets that have expired or have a System Status of INACTIVE - (check box)

1. Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Unit Sets

Use this field to set a maximum number of SSF Available Self Enrolment Unit Sets a student can enrol in via Connect.

Note:

1. If a number is entered in the Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Unit Sets field and the indicator Include ONLY unit sets available for self enrolment is not enabled then all unit sets (enrolled and completed) regardless of the way in which the student has been enrolled in that unit set or whether they are SSF available or not, will count toward the number set in the Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Unit Sets field.
2. If a number is entered in the Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Unit Sets field and the indicator Include ONLY unit sets available for self enrolment is enabled then the system counts the number of unit sets already enrolled / completed that are SSF available.
3. If the student has reached the number set in the Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Unit Sets field, an error indicating that self enrolment into the unit set cannot be performed is displayed.
4. If the number set in the Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Unit Sets field has not been reached the student will be able to complete the self enrolment process.

   For example, if a value of '3' was nominated for Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Unit Sets and the Include ONLY unit sets available for self enrolment is enabled, then students will not be able to exceed three enrolled/completed SSF Available Unit Set Attempts via Connect.

5. If there is no number in the Maximum number of Self Enrolment Unit Sets field, then there are no restrictions on the number of unit sets into which the student can enrol via Student Connect.

2. Include ONLY Unit Sets available for Self Enrolment - Check Box

1. When this indicator is enabled, only unit sets that are SSF available count toward the number set in the Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Units.
2. When this indicator is not enabled, all units regardless of whether they are SSF available or not count toward the number set in Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Unit Sets.

3. Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Primary Unit Sets

Use this field to set the maximum number of primary unit sets a student can enrol in via Connect.

Note:

1. If Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Primary Unit Sets is set to 1, then you cannot nominate more than one primary unit set via Connect.
2. If Maximum Number of Self Enrolment Primary Unit Sets is left blank then there is no limit to the number of primary unit sets in which the student can enrol.

Maintain Course Reference Codes section:

1. 'Exclude Unit Sets that have expired or have a System Status of INACTIVE' checkbox:

Use this check box to enable or disable the validation that fires on the Unit Set Code field in CRSF1290 in order to prevent or allow selection of expired and inactive Unit Set Codes from the Unit Set Code LOV, i.e:

• If the checkbox is selected, you cannot select expired and INACTIVE Unit Set Codes from the LOV (i.e. a validation fires and prevents selection of expired or inactive Unit Set Codes).
• If the check box is deselected, you are able to select any Unit Set Code (regardless of its status or expiry date) from the LOV (i.e. the validation that prevents selection of expired and inactive Unit Set Codes, is disabled).
