Unit Version The Unit Version block (context block) displays the current Unit Version record (context record) from the Maintain Basic Unit Details form. The displayed records in the Unit Reference Code block are the alternative Reference Codes by which the context Unit Version may be identified. For example, when a unit is displayed in the Maintain Basic Unit Details form, the Other Unit Details button selected and the Unit Reference Codes button selected, then this form will display that same unit as the context record and any existing Reference Codes relating to this record will be displayed. Unit Reference Code Each Unit Version is identified within the System by its unique combination of Unit Code and Version Number. This form is used to record alternative Reference Codes to identify a Unit Version for other specific purposes. This feature is particularly useful for recording codes used by other systems to identify a Unit Version. For example, an interactive voice response (IVR) system may use numerical codes to identify Unit Versions. In SIS, the same Unit Version may be represented by an alphanumeric Unit Code and a version number. Using the Maintain Unit Reference Codes form it is possible to record the IVR code against this system's Unit Code and version number to provide a link between the two systems. This form can be accessed through Other Unit Details button in CRSF2210, then the Reference Codes arrow from the overlay. |
