Purpose

To record a desription and explanation for each system-defined Advanced Standing Granting Status for display, particularly in web functionality.

An institution can record both a description and an explanation for each System Advanced Standing Granting Status. System Advanced Standing Granting Status Explanation is used to provide students with explanatory information about their Advanced Standing Grant Status displayed in Callista Connect applications such as Advanced Standing.

The System Advanced Standing Granting Status block contains:

• Granting Status
  - system defined name
• Description
  - short description of Advanced Standing which can be defined by an institution
• Closed check box
  - when selected, the Advanced Standing is no longer available to use
• Explanation
  - see examples opposite. Can be defined by an institution

Notes/Rules:

Examples of a Granting Status Explanation:

• Approved
  • Explanation - Your Advanced Standing request (for a Unit or Unit Level) has been approved but not yet applied to your Academic Record
• Assessing
  • Explanation - You have made an Advanced Standing request, presently under assessment, but we as yet, have made no decision
• Cancelled
  • Explanation - You have voluntarily withdrawn your Advanced Standing request
• Declined
  • Explanation - You have not accepted our approval for your Advanced Standing request
• Expired
  • Explanation - Your previously approved Advanced Standing has now expired because it was not granted by the cut-off date
• Granted
  • Explanation - Your request for Advanced Standing is approved and applied to your Acadmic Record
• Not Approved
  • Explanation - After consideration, we have decided not to approve your Advanced Standing request
• Revoked
  • Explanation - We have withdrawn your request for Advanced Standing

Query to display the System Advanced Standing Granting Statuses.

For each status record an explanatory message in the Explanation field.

The Description field may also be updated if required.

Notes/Rules:

The Granting Status field cannot be edited.

Student users should be able to easily understand Explanations.
