Purpose

To create and maintain Government Course Types, in accordance with the DIISRTE documentation for the Higher Education Student Collection.

Rules/Notes:

The Course Types button links to CRSF1110 (Maintain Course Types).

In Cross Sector and HE Installations, the HE and VET Course Types defined here will be available in CRSF1110. In VET only installations, Government Course Types designated to a Sector.

To create a new Government Course Type record using the Maintain Government Course Types form:

• Enter Insert mode.
• Enter the new DIISRTE code in the Govt Course Type field of a blank record.
• Enter the corresponding description for the DIISRTE code in the Description field.
• Select HE or VET for the Sector value. [Only in Cross sector and HE installations]
• Save.

To delete a Government Course Type record using the Maintain Government Course Types form:

• Find the record to be deleted.
• Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted.
• Delete record.
• Save.

Rules/Notes:

If a Government Course Type has been assigned to an institution defined course type, it cannot be deleted. It can be closed, preventing any further use, by selecting the Closed check box.

A Government Course Type cannot be closed if any of the course types mapped to it are open.

To modify a Government Course Type record using the Maintain Government Course Types form:

• Find the record to be modified.
• Modify the record as required.
• Save.

Rules/Notes:

A Government Course Type should only be modified where the change is to correct an incorrectly entered description. A new Government Course Type should normally be created, in accordance with DIISRTE specifications.

A Government Course Type can be closed, preventing any further use, by selecting the Closed check box.

Changes within this form will have the following notable effects:

Adding a Government Course Type permits its use in the definition of an institution defined course type (in CRSF1110) and hence for DIISRTE statistical reporting.
