This form is used to maintain the Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship Offering Instances

This form is used to define specific criteria to assist the institution in determining eligibility of an Applicant for a particular Scholarship.

It is accessed by clicking on the Eligibility navigation button in SCHF0510.

The general Eligibility Criteria and their available responses will be created in the Maintain Scholarship Application Eligibility Criteria and Response Options form(SCHF0550).  Criteria created there can be added to the Scholarship Offering Instance in this form. 

The Eligibility Criteria will determine:

• The questions the Applicant is asked in the Applicant Portal to determine their eligibility for the Scholarship, and
• The criteria on which the Applicant is ranked, when the institution ranks the applications for the Scholarship Offering Instance.

Whether the Eligibility Criterion is Mandatory or not (in Applicant Portal), is also recorded.

Eligibility Criteria entered against the Scholarship Offering Instance will have Eligibility Response Options defined against it at the Eligibility Criteria level. This form also allows the user to define the Response Option Score and whether a response is Required for Pre Selection for the Scholarship Offering Instance.

Conditional criteria may also be defined for an Eligibility Response Option. These will only display to an applicant when they have responded to the initial criterion with a particular response. Each Conditional Response Option must have a response score which must be mandatory.

This block always displays the context Scholarship Offering Instance details from SCHF0510 and cannot be queried.

The Eligibility Criteria block contains:

• Mandatory checkbox
• Reason Required check box
• Question (displayed when you click on the Question button)

Eligibility Criteria must not be closed (in SCHF0550).

The Mandatory checkbox must be selected when the Selection Type of the Eligibility Criteria is PRE in SCHF0550.

The Required for Eligibility checkbox cannot be selected when the Selection Type of the Eligibility Criteria is not PRE in SCHF0550.

When the Reason Required check box is selected then a reason is required when an override score is entered in SCHF1040.

Click on the Question button to display a Question text box overlaying the Description, Selection Type, System Criteria Type, Display Order fields and the Display in Applicant Portal, Mandatory and Reason Required check boxes.

If the Eligibility Criteria has a response type of LIST then the Response Option block contains:

• Option ID
• Option Description
• Response Score
• Required for Eligibility check box

If the Eligibility Criteria has a response type of FREE-TEXT then the Response Option block contains:

For FREE-TEXT eligibility criteria, a default Response Score can be defined . This score is displayed in the Response Options block.

Conditional criteria can be defined in context of an Eligibility Response Option.

A conditional criterion is one that will only display to an applicant when they have responded to a standard criterion with a particular response. One or more conditional criteria can be defined for an Eligibility Criterion Response Option.

Conditional criteria can be defined as Mandatory and Reason Required, independently of the standard criterion to which they are defined. Likewise each Conditional Response Option may be defined as Required for Eligibility and each Conditional Response Option will have a response score which must be mandatory.

An Eligibility Criterion might have

To record Eligibility Criteria for a Scholarship Offering Instance:

• Go to SCHF0500 and query for Scholarship Version.
• Click on the Scholarship Offering button to go to SCHF0510.
• Select the Scholarship Offering Instance for which you are recording Eligibility Criteria.
• In the Eligibility Criteria block, select the required Criteria Code and select Display in Applicant Portal and/or Mandatory checkboxes as appropriate and save.
• In the Response Options block, for each Response option, award a score and select the Required for Eligibility checkbox if that is the case.
• In the Conditional Eligibility Criteria block, select the required Criteria Code and select Display in Applicant Portal and/or Mandatory checkboxes as appropriate and save.
• In the Conditional Response Options block, for each Response option, award a score and select the Required for Eligibility checkbox if that is the case.
• Repeat previous two steps as required
• Save.

If the Eligibility criteria has a response type of LIST, a Response Score must be entered for each Response Option.
