This form enables the recording of institution defined governance types. These institution defined values are used throughout the Prizes subsystem to define the characteristics by which a prize is governed. Institution defined governance types are mapped to one of the following system defined governance types:

• CONDITION
• REGULATION
• NOT-APPLIC

This form is accessed from the main menu.

• Governance Type
• Description
• System Governance Type
• Closed check box
• Explanation

Rules/Notes:

Use this form to record and maintain institution specific definitions for governance type. To record an institution defined governance type, perform the following:

1. Enter the name of the institution defined governance type in the Governance Type field.
2. Enter a description for the governance type in the Description field.
3. Select a system governance type from the System Governance Type LOV.
4. Selecting the Closed check box prevents the governance type from being selected as a governance type.

Rules/Notes:

A closed System Governance Type cannot be associated with a user defined Governance Type.

A System Governance Type cannot be updated if the associated Governance Type has one or more prizes associated with it.

A Governance Type record cannot be opened if the mapped System Governance Type is closed.
