PRGW9030 - View Course Completion

Overview

This page has similar functionality to PRGF9030.

Use this page to evaluate a Student Course Attempt against existing Completion Rules. Completion Rules may exist for the Course Version and for the following components of that Course Version — Course Stages, Unit Sets or other Course Versions that are alternative exits for this course.

Rule checking can be run in two modes:

To test Completion rules, select the tab for the rules that you wish to test and then click on Run Completion Rules.

Running this evaluation does not mark a Student Course Attempt as complete. To do this, the Rqrmnts Complete check box must be set in PRGF4170 after it has been determined that academic requirements and other obligations have been satisfied. The setting of this check box marks the student eligible to graduate from that Course Version. Likewise, the process of setting the Completed check box (on ENRF3252) against a Unit Set should follow the testing of a Unit Set Completion Rule, where a student satisfies the academic requirements of that Unit Set.

After running a rule evaluation, a lamp displays the result in the selected tab.
e.g. COURSE COMPLETION RULES NOT SATISFIED

When predictive evaluation is run, the result is displayed by a lamp.
e.g. CANNOT COMPLETE STAGE

An ENCUMBERED lamp may be displayed above the tabs on this page to indicate the existence of an encumbrance for this student.

An explanatory message is returned against each rule to identify those requirements that have not been satisfied.
For example: 'Must complete 24 credit points. Has achieved 15 credit points.'
If the complete message is not visible hover the mouse over the message text.
The creation of Completion Message Rules is described in the Completion Message Rules.

When a rule is composed of multiple rules, each separated by '&', then each rule is tested separately and generates its own messsage.

The creation of Completion Rules is described in the Completion Rules Overview.
The creation of Course Stage Rules is described in the Course Stage Rules.
The creation of Unit Set Rules is described in the Unit Set Rules.

The running of Completion Rule Checking in this pop up does not set Completion check boxes, nor update the status of a Student Course Attempt or Student Unit Set Attempt.

If Completion testing is attempted at a level for which no rule is defined, then a 'No rules exist' error is displayed.

The results of a Completion Test will remain on that tab while you move to other tabs, but will be removed when you close the View Course Completion pop up.
