Remoteness Areas are recorded against Locations of type CAMPUS and are used to determine the level of funding as defined in the Resource Agreement. Remoteness Areas may be used to define Intake Target Types (via an Intake Target Type Rule). The following are possible examples of institution-defined Remoteness Areas:
It is possible in the future that the institution-defined Remoteness Areas will be mapped to Government-defined Remoteness Areas. The Government values may be sourced from the ABS. Refer to the Statistical Concepts Library on the Australian Bureau of Statistics website (http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats). However, this is not currently a Government-reporting requirement for TAFE. This form is accessed from the main menu. |

Rules/Notes: Institution defined Remoteness Area Codes MUST be unique. All mandatory fields must have data entered prior to saving a record. Mandatory fields in this case are:

To
modify a Remoteness Area Code:

Rules/Notes: Once in use, a Remoteness Area Code should not be modified. |
To delete a Remoteness Area Code:
|
Rules/Notes: A Remoteness Area Code can be closed preventing any further use by selecting the Closed check box. A Remoteness Area Code record that has been defined within ORGF0131 cannot be deleted. |
