An Institution Status defines the institution's current level of activity in a way that may have particular meaning for that institution. However, each such Institution Status must be assigned a System Institution Status which is recognised by the System for other functionality. |

To
create an Institution Status using the Maintain Institution Status form:

Rules/Notes: On entering a new Institution Status, the System Institution Status defaults to ACTIVE. |
To modify an Institution Status using the Maintain Institution Status
form:

Rules/Notes: If an Institution Status has been used in the definition of an institution its description should only be modified where the change is minor and does not alter the meaning. An Institution Status can be closed, preventing any further use, by selecting the Closed check box. Once an Institution Status has been assigned to one or more institutions, its System Institution Status should not be changed. A new Institution Status should normally be created. |
To delete an Institution Status using the Maintain Institution Status form:

Rules/Notes: If an Institution Status has been used in the definition of an institution, it cannot be deleted. It can be closed, preventing any further use, by selecting the Closed check box. |
