Use this form to maintain the System Job Control entries for the database server and the Application Server Instance and Control entries for the application server.

System Administrator access only is recommended for this form.

Job And Job Type Restrictions

The form also provides the functionality to setup specific Job and more generic Job Type restrictions for a particular Application Server. It can also be used to set Environment Variables for the database and the application server.

Test URL Button

The Test URL button tests that the Application Server URL specified is valid and if the servlet running the jobs is up and running. It does this by passing the App Server Url appended with the string '/callistaJobRun?p_request_job_run_id=0' to the UTL_HTTP package.

The response from the HTTP package determines the validity of the URL. If the response code returned is 200 then the servlet ran successfully and the URL is correct. A response code of anything but 200 indicates that either the URL is incorrect, the servlet may not exist or that there is some other problem with the Application server. A manual test of the Application server is recommended in such circumstances.

Test Host Command Buttons

The Test Host Command button tests the setting of environment variables on the Application Server or the Database Server depending on which block the button is pressed.

The button on the System Job Control block sets the environment variables on the database server and displays the list of environment variables set along with their values. The values for the environment variables are derived from the S_JOB_CONTROL table.

The button on the Application Server Instance block sets the environment variables on the application server and displays the list of environment variables set along with their values. The values for the environment variables are derived from the APP_SERVER_INSTANCE_CONTROL table.
