To create and maintain Graduation Evaluation Types.

Graduation Evaluation Types (GETs) are used to qualify students’ eligibility for higher awards, such as a medal or an award. GETs appear in the Evaluate Potential Graduands function (GRDW5300) for Potential Graduands, along with other details associated with the Graduand.

This form allows institutions to define GETs according to their requirements.

The administrator can define the context in which the GET appears. The default context will be that a GET appears institution-wide. A GET operating in this context will appear in every Potential Graduand record that is being evaluated in GRDW5300. The GET may also be defined to only appear for course(s) or for Org Unit(s). (The course refers to the Student Course Attempt (SCA) and the Org. Unit is the owning Org Unit of the course of the SCA.)

A response can be recorded against the GET.

Institutions can customise their Response values.

• A default Response value can also be recorded by an institution but is optional.
• The administrator can define how the GET appears in the assessment application.
• The administrator can also relate the GET to a System Input Field type. The System Input Field Type will include values like pop-list, checkbox, text field and indicator.
• The administrator can also configure the display order and the prompt of the GET that appears during assessment.

This form can be accessed via the Callista menu.

Notes:

The same Display Order number cannot be recorded for more than one record.

Course and Org Unit can’t both be selected for a Potential Graduand Evaluation Type record.

In the Potential Graduand Evaluation Type block and the Response tab, when the 'move-up' or 'move down' buttons are used, the rows are redisplayed in the new order and the relevant Display Order fields are updated in form.

A Graduation Evaluation Type’s context can be for Courses or Org Units, but not both. It’s also allowable to have no context.

The Default check box can only be selected for one Response for a given Graduation Evaluation Type.

To create a new Evaluation Type

• Go to GRDF5100
• Press F8 to change to Insert mode
• Click the cursor in the record which the new Type is to follow in the display order and press F6 to create a new record in that position.
• Record new Type and Description and select a System Input Field Type to map it to.
• Record the Prompt for this GET.
• Record Details for the Context, if required.
• Save.
