Structure  Block Testamur Type

'Testamur' is used to describe the official printed document signifying conferral of an award.

A Testamur Type typically represents a Testamur with a unique content and layout. For example, an institution may have a standard award course Testamur and another non-standard Testamur for joint awards. Each award is associated with a specific Testamur Type (in the Maintain Awards form, CRSF1190). Each Testamur Type must also be mapped to a Correspondence Type, as Testamurs are frequently mailed.

The Testamur Type block contains:

  • Testamur Type
  • Description
  • Correspondence Type
  • Closed check box

Rules/Notes:

Use this form to create and maintain Testamur Types determined by your institution, and assign a Correspondence Type to each.

Types no longer required can be closed. Once assigned to an award, a particular type cannot be deleted.

Rules/Notes:

More than one Testamur Type can be linked to the same Correspondence Type.

Correspondence Types are maintained in form CORF2110. See also Understanding Correspondence.
