GENF4830 - Maintain Workflow

Purpose

This form allows the user to define a Workflow Process.

This form enables you to define and maintain a Workflow Process Type.

The Workflow Step button navigates to GENF4820 (in the context of the selected Workflow Step).

This form is accessed from the main menu.

 

The Workflow Process Type block contains:

  • Workflow Code (+ Version Number and Description)
  • System Workflow Type
  • External Workflow check box
  • Closed check box
  • Web Service Code
  • External Reference

The Workflow Step Mapping block contains:

  • Workflow Step
  • Description
  • Order

Rules/Notes:

The Workflow Version Number is automatically incremented when creating a record. The field will only be navigable in query mode.

PROPOSAL and DISINTAPPL are available in the System Workflow Type LOV.

A Web Service Code must be specified if the External Workflow check box is selected.

Workflow Steps are defined GENF4820.

The number of Workflow Steps that a Workflow can have is unlimited.

The Order value is inherited from the Workflow Step recorded when a Workflow Step is added, but can be changed. After refreshing, the Workflow Step sort order is Order ASC.

When the Workflow is executed and multiple Workflow Steps have the same Order Number, then those steps will occur simultaneously and need to be completed satisfactorily before any subsequent step can start.

Validations include:

  • A closed System Workflow cannot be selected.
  • A closed WebService Code cannot be selected.
  • Only one Workflow record can exist for a System Worklow Type that has the Allow Multiple Indicator set to N.
  • A Web Service must be specified when the External Workflow indicator is set to Y.
  • A closed Workflow Step cannot be selected.
  • A warning is generated when a Workflow Step Mapping record already exists with the same Order.
  • The System Workflow Type cannot be altered once it is associated with a Review Category.

To create a new Workflow Type:

  • Go to GENF4830.
  • Change to Insert mode.
  • Record value for Workflow Code and associated Description.
  • Select the System Workflow Type.
  • If the workflow is external select the External Workflow check box , select the appropriate Web Service Code and record details for the External Reference text box if required.
  • Use the Workflow Step LOVs to enter the required Workflow Steps. Alter the Order if required.
  • Save.

To modify a Workflow Type:
  • Go to GENF4830.
  • Query for the required Workflow Type.
  • Make changes as required
  • Save.

  • Go to GENF4830.
  • Query for the required Workflow Type.
  • Click on the Delete button.
