ENRF01R0 - Maintain Employment Category - VET only

Purpose

To maintain institution-defined Employment Category values.

The purpose of this function is to maintain institution-defined Employment Category values. The institution-defined values must map to Government Employment Category values. Institution-defined Employment Category values are recorded for VET Person Statistics.

The following are examples of institution defined Employment Categories:

01 FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE
02 PART-TIME EMPLOYEE
03 SELF-EMPLOYED
06 UNEMPLOYED - SEEKING FULL-TIME WORK
08 NOT EMPLOYED - NOT SEEKING EMPLOYMENT
@@ NOT STATED (QUESTION ASKED BUT NO ANSWER PROVIDED)

This form is accessed via the main menu, or through STAF112M, via the Employment Categories button at the bottom of the block.

 

The Employment Category block contains:

  • Employment Category
  • Description
  • Govt Employment Category
  • Closed check box
  • Effective Start Submission Year
  • Effective End Submission Year
  • Comments
  • Explanation
Rules/Notes:

To create a new Employment Category:

  • Enter Insert mode.
  • Enter the new code in the Employment Category field of a blank record.
  • Enter the corresponding description for this record in the Description field.
  • Enter the Government Employment Category to which this record is mapped.
  • Enter a date for the Effective Start Submission Year.
  • Enter a date for the Effective End Submission Year.
  • Enter any comments or explanations as required.
  • Save.

Rules/Notes:

More than one active Employment Category can exist for each government Employment Category.

An Employment Category record cannot be created for a closed Government Employment Category.

An Employment Category cannot be re-opened if it is mapped to a closed Government Employment Category.

If both the Effective Start Submission Year and Effective End Submission Year are specified, then the Effective Start Submission Year cannot be greater than the Effective End Submission Year.

Effective Start Submission Year must exist as a Submission Year on the Government Submission Snapshot Control VET table.

Effective End Submission Year must exist as a Submission Year on the Government Submission Snapshot Control VET table.

To modify an Employment Category:
  • Find the record to be modified.
  • Modify the record as required.
  • Save.

Rules/Notes:

Once in use, an Employment Category should not be modified.

To delete an Employment Category:

  • Find the record to be deleted.
  • Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted.
  • Delete record.
  • Save.

Rules/Notes:

An Employment Category can be closed preventing any further use by selecting the Closed check box.
