ENRF01D0 - Maintain Suburb Postcodes

Purpose

To allow the recording and maintenance of Australian Postcodes and Suburbs

This form is used to record and maintain the list of available Australian Postcodes as advised by Australia Post. An individual Postcode may represent several suburbs. In the System, Postcodes are used for addresses and for person statistics. This form is not used for overseas Postcodes, Zip Codes etc. These are not maintained within the System but are entered as required against overseas addresses.

 

The Australian Postcodes and Sububs block contains:

  • Postcode
  • Suburbs
  • Closed check box
 

To create a new Suburb Postcode record using the Maintain Suburb Postcodes form:

  • Enter Insert mode
  • Enter the new postcode in the Postcode field of a blank record
  • Enter the corresponding suburb/town/city for the postcode in the Suburb field
  • Save
 

To modify a Suburb Postcode record using the Maintain Suburb Postcodes form:

  • Find the record to be modified
  • Modify the record as required
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

A Postcode should only be modified where the change is to correct an incorrectly entered Suburb description.

To delete a Suburb Postcode record using the Maintain Suburb Postcodes form:

  • Find the record to be deleted
  • Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted
  • Delete record
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

If a Postcode has been assigned to a an address or statistics record, it cannot be deleted. It can be closed, preventing any further use, by selecting the Closed check box.
