CRSF2891 - Maintain Activity Type

Purpose

To enable the definition of Activity Types

Anticipated Frequency Before the commencement of the Course Year, or as required
Structure Block  Activity Type  

 

The purpose of this function is to allow the definition of the Activity Types. Activity Types are used to classify activities.

For example, an institution can define these Activity Types:

  • Lecture
  • Seminar
  • Practical
  • Laboratory
  • Tutorial
  • Workshop
  • Discussion
  • Placements
  • Colloquium

 

The Activity Type block contains:

  • Activity Type
  • Description
  • Closed check box
 
To create a new Activity Type:
  • Enter Insert mode
  • Enter the new code in the Activity Type field of a blank record
  • Enter the corresponding description for the Activity Type in the Description field
  • Tick the box if it is Closed
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

Institution defined Activity Types MUST be unique. 

All Mandatory fields must have data entered prior to saving the record. Mandatory Fields in this case are:

  • Activity Type
  • Description
To modify an Activity Type:
  • Find the record to be modified
  • Modify the record as required
  • Save

Rules/Notes:

Once in use, a Activity Type should not be modified.

To delete an Activity Type:
  • Find the record to be deleted
  • Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted
  • Delete record
  • Save
 

Rules/Notes:

An Activity Type can be closed preventing any further use by selecting the Closed check box.
