CRSF11J0 - Maintain Recognition Type - VET only

Purpose

To maintain institution-defined Recognition Types. Each Recognition Type is mapped to a Government Recognition Type.

Recognition Types are used to distinguish courses by their level of recognition within the VET sector.

Each Recognition Type is mapped to a Government Recognition Type to enable derivation of a course's highest level of recognition as used in the AVETMISS reporting. See Understanding VET Statistics for details.

The following are examples of Recognition Types:

12 RECOGNISED - Not leading to training package qualification

The Recognition Type block contains:

  • Recognition Type
  • Description
  • Govt Recognition Type
  • Closed check box
  • Comments
  • Explanation

 

Rules/Notes:

 

To create a new Recognition Type:

  • Enter Insert mode.
  • Enter the new code in the Recognition Type field of a blank record.
  • Enter the corresponding description for the Recognition Type in the Description field.
  • Select the Government Recognition type to which the new Recognition Type maps from the list of values (or key a valid value) in the Govt. Recognition Type field.
  • Record any comments applicable to this Recognition Type.
  • Record an explanation for each Recognition type. Recognition Type explanations are used as part of the GOVT-STATS application in Callista Connect.
  • Save.

Rules/Notes:

More than one active institution-defined Recognition Type can exist for each Government Recognition type.

Institution-defined Recognition Codes MUST be unique. 

 

To modify a Recognition Type:

  • Find the record to be modified.
  • Modify the record, as required.
  • Save.

Rules/Notes:

Once in use, an institution defined Recognition Type should not be modified.

To delete a Recognition Type:

  • Find the record to be deleted.
  • Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted.
  • Delete record.
  • Save.

Rules/Notes:

A Recognition Type can be closed preventing any further use by selecting the Closed check box.
