CRSF1120 - Maintain Course Type Groups

Purpose

To enable the creation and maintenance of institution defined Course Type Groups

SubSystem Course Structure and Planning
Normally Run By Course/Planning Specialist
Anticipated Frequency As required
Structure Block Course Type Group
Button Course Type

This form is used to record and maintain institution defined Course Type Groups. Course Type Groups are comparable to Government and institution defined Course Types (which are mapped to Government Course Types) but provide for groupings of these Course Types to meet the specific needs of the institution. Thus, a Course Type may be assigned to membership of a Course Type Group enabling future inquiry, reporting and manipulation of courses by group.

For example, Course Types '03 - Masters by research' and '04 - Masters by coursework ' (which in this case are mapped to Government Course Types of the same name) could be combined by assigning them to the institution defined Course Type Group 'M - Master's degrees'.

The Course Type Group block contains:

  • Course Type Group
  • Description
  • Closed check box

    Button

    • Course Type

Rules/Notes:

Adding a Course Type Group permits its use in the definition of Course Types and hence for reporting and inquiry purposes.
