CORF2650 - Maintain Email Account

Purpose

To register the Email Account that should be used

This function allows a user to register the email accounts that should be read.

Once an email has been read from the registered account, the Correspondence Type, Provider, Server and Username cannot be changed . This will allow historial references later on.

This form can be accessed from the main menu.

 

The Email Account block contains:

  • Sequence Number
  • Description
  • Username
  • Closed check box
  • Server
  • Correspondence Type (LOV)
  • Provider (Pop)
  • Password
  • Inbox
  • Processed Email Action (Pop)

Rules/Notes:

Validations include:

  • Once an incoming correspondence record exists for the email account, then the Correspondence Type, Server, Provider or Username cannot be changed
  • Correspondence Type is closed
  • The Correspondence Type should be a messaging correspondence type
  • There cannot be more than one open record with the same Server and Username
  • The Processed Email Action value of READ cannot be used when the Provider is POP.

The 'Sequence Number' is a generated number and the user cannot insert into this field.

The 'Description' is a description of the provider.

The 'Username' is the mail server username.

The 'Closed' check box allows a mailbox to be closed and a new one to be created. It should not be deleted.

The 'Server' is the mail server used.

When the 'Correspondence Type' is created it is imported into the incoming_correspondence table and referenced to the mailbox.sequence_number table so that correct matching can be performed.

The 'Provider' is either 'pop3' or 'imap'.

The 'Password' is the mail server password. It will show stars representing the password.

The 'Inbox' field is the name of the inbox for mail. It defaults to INBOX.

The' Processed Email Action' field is defaulted to DELETE. See 'Validation' rules under first 'Rules'Notes'.
