The System Communication Delivery Type definition includes:

System Derived Indicator

This will be used to identify Delivery Types requiring automatic derivation of recipient communication destinations.

For example, an institution may have a policy of always deriving recipient e-mail addresses from the email_addr column in the person table. In such cases, recipients will not be able to specify a destination for the Delivery Type.

Allow Concurrent Destinations Indicator

This will be used to control a person's ability to have more than one current Destination for the Delivery Type.

For example, an institution may only allow each person to have one current Destination for each Delivery Type.

(NB Alternatively, multiple concurrent Destinations could always be allowed, but each communication may only be delivered to the first 'valid' destination for each Correspondence Type. For example, a person may have multiple Destinations for the EMAIL Delivery Type. Destination 1 may be able to receive text only but Destination 2 may be able to receive text and HTML. Destination 1 may be assigned the highest priority by the person, but will only be used by jobs that have text only output).

Allow Shared Priorities Indicator

This will be used to control a person's ability to record the same priority for concurrent Destinations for a Delivery Type. In such cases, communications will be sent to both Destinations if both are able to handle the communication content type.

For further information on Incoming Email, see Correspondence Special Topics (CORINTR5).
