To record and maintain a set of institution-defined Thesis Examination Types and associated details

 An institution may have a range of ways to examine a research candidate's thesis, appropriate to the type of research. The Thesis Examination Types recorded here are used in the Thesis Details form (RESF3700) to identify the type of Thesis Examination applicable to a given candidate's thesis.

 

The Thesis Examination Type block contains:

  • Thesis Exam Type
  • Description
  • Closed check box

 

This form is used to record the institution-defined set of Thesis Examination types.

Thesis Exam Type and Description are mandatory entries. Once created, the Thesis Exam Type entry cannot be modified. Modifications can be made to the Description.

Rules/Notes:

Possible types could include WRITTEN, PERFORM, ORAL.

A Thesis Exam Type must have a unique name.

Once a Thesis Examination Type has been used in the system, it cannot be deleted. Select the Closed indicator to prevent future use of this type.
