Button Show Password

This function enables the configuration of HEIMS (Higher Education Information Management System) interface controls including:

  • Password and Username definition:
    • The storage of an institution’s HEIMS Username and Password. This Password and Username is used in all batch and real-time transactions to HEIMS
    • A new password, randomly generated from GENJ0030, is displayed in this form. This form also has the faciltiy to manually enter a password. The only time this would happen is when the password generated from GENJ0030 displays an error. Under this circumstance, you apply to HEIMS for a reset password. It is this reset password that is manually entered.
  • Requests Per 24hr limit:
    • To ensure acceptable service levels for all DEST clients, each client has a limited number of HEIMS transactions they can call every 24 hours
    • Separate daily limits apply to both real-time and batch transactions (DEST is to advise what the limits will be). This function enables theconfiguration of these limits within Callista
  • Request Transaction Limit:
    • DEST has defined the batch CHESSN request Transaction limit at 1000 for uncompressed transaction and 10,000 for compressed transaction. This function enables institutions to define a lower limit for compressed requests. Callista will not support uncompressed CHESSN requests, except for the password change function
  • HEIMS Server Time Offset:
    • The hours difference between the Local Time Zone and the HEIMS Server Time Zone. For example, if the Local Time is 10:00 and HEIMS time is 13:00 the offset is 3.

This form is accessed via the main menu.

The HEIMS Interface Configuration block contains:
