Update Process

This process updates the Student Course Attempt Status for Student Course Attempts that have altered circumstances and were not able to be updated at the time.

The process looks for, and updates, the following occurrences within Student Course Attempt records:

  • An Intermission Period has begun and the Student Course Attempt Status is not INTERMIT.
  • An Intermission Period has ended and the Student Course Attempt Status is still INTERMIT.
  • An Enrolment Form Due Date has been reached and the Student Course Attempt Status is ENROLLED and there are no ENROLLED Unit Attempts attached.
  • A Teaching Calendar Start Date for a Unit Attempt has been reached and the Student Course Attempt Status is INACTIVE or LAPSED.
  • A future Discontinuation Date has been reached and the Student Course Attempt Status is still ENROLLED.

The logic for derivation of Course Attempt Statuses is the subject of a special topic.

Records updated to DISCONTIN are logged. Running the Student Course Attempt Future Discontinuation Report (ENRR08A0) after this process, produces a detailed report of the Discontinued Student Course Attempts.
