Encumbrance Checking in ENRF3000

Encumbrance checking in ENRF3000 requires the existence of enrolment step ‘CHKCENCUMB’.

 

Student Course Attempt

Encumbrances are checked as part of the Student Course Attempt eligibility checks when the Course Attempt is confirmed, or discontinuation is lifted.

The following is checked:

If any of the above Encumbrances exist on all the Census Dates checked, then the Student Course Attempt is Encumbered for the Academic Session. This will produce an error when attempting to confirm or lift a discontinuation on a Student Course Attempt.

If at least one of the Census Dates does not have any of these Encumbrances, and the Census Date is greater than or equal to today, then the Student Course Attempt is not Encumbered for the Academic Session; Unit Enrolments can be achieved.

 

Student Unit Attempt

Encumbrances are checked whenever an attempt is made to enrol /re-enrol a Unit Attempt.

The triggers are:

The following is checked:

Determine the Census Date of the Unit Attempt Teaching Period.

If any of the above Encumbrances exist on the Census Date checked, then the student Unit Attempt is encumbered. This will produce a validation error, with the exception being invalid Unit Attempts; there is no validation error, the Unit Attempt remains invalid.

 

Lamps

The lamps in the 3 enrolment windows base their checking on an Encumbrance being effective on today’s date.

 

Person:

If Encumbrances SUS_SRVC, RVK_SRVC, then ADMIN ENCUMBERED is displayed.

 

Student Course Attempt:

If Encumbrances SUS_SRVC, RVK_SRVC, or Course Exclusions EXC_COURSE, SUS_COURSE, or Enrolment Restrictions RSTR_AT_TY, RSTR_GE_CP, RSTR_LE_CP, or Course Group EXC_CRS_GP, then ENCUMBERED is displayed.

 

Student Unit Attempt:

If person Encumbrances, or Course/ Course Group Exclusions/Enrolment restrictions or at least one Course Unit Exclusion EXC_CRS_U, or RQRD_CRS_U and not satisfying person unit requirements, then ENCUMBERED is displayed.
