The Confucius Institute is a partnership between Charles Darwin University, Anhui Normal University and Hainan University. Officially opened on 31 July 2012 to develop and deliver a range of programs to enhance awareness and understanding of the Chinese language and culture among the local community and foster Chinese and Australian cultural and economic links.
A key objective of the Confucius Institute is to work closely with the Chinese community in the Northern Territory to enhance cultural activities and support a range of Chinese language and cultural programs.
