Graduation

Students participating in university graduation ceremonies join a rich tradition, which dates back to the 12th Century. The ceremony, presided over by the Chancellor, serves as the official conferral of awards obtained by students. Prior to the ceremony they are “graduands” – those eligible to graduate - but upon conferral they become graduates.

Charles Darwin University takes this opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge publicly your achievement. Guests, especially relatives and friends, are cordially invited to share the celebration with you.

If you are unable to attend the ceremony your award is conferred in absentia and your testamur will be mailed to you, approx 2-3 weeks after the ceremony or you can collect it from Student Central at CDU Casuarina campus.

The duration of the graduation ceremony is approximately 90 minutes.

Please note: it is important that you register before the advertised closing time to ensure you can participate in the ceremony.
